Join the WSS

The Wisconsin Speleological Society (WSS) is the Wisconsin chapter of the National Speleological Society (NSS).  We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and have no paid staff. All our activities state & nation wide are the result of the many dedicated volunteers and donations.

The membership of the WSS consists of a diverse group of members of all walks of life from geologists to weekend warriors to just being a monthly newsletter members. Joining the WSS is fun for all age groups and is an relatively inexpensive hobby.

Anyone is welcome to come to the monthly WSS meetings that are usually held at the Ledge View Nature Center during the winter months and Cherney Maribel Caves County Park during the summer months. The WSS usually meets at 10:00 am on the 3rd Saturday of each month. This schedule sometimes changes, and WSS meetings are held at other locations. Please refer to the  WSS online calendar or The Hollow Earth News for updated meeting information. If you come to a meeting, everyone is friendly and accommodating. Feel free to ask question and join in on our activities. In each of us, there is something that draws us to caves, and that common thread is what draws us together.
